In March 2015, Germany committed itself to implementing the United Nations (UN) Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. The national focal point for the Sendai Framework is the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK).
On July 13, 2022, the Federal Government adopted the German Strategy to Strengthen Resilience to Disasters (or “Resilience Strategy” for short) with the aim of better protecting people and their livelihoods and strengthening the community’s resilience and adaptability to disasters.
